�February, Sunday, 15. 1863. To day. I was on Orderley duty at the General's Headquarters. I had to carry a dispatch to Gen'l Slocum's Headquearters. three to Gen'l Williams Headquarters. and one to Col. Ross. of the 20th Conn Regt. It rained in the forenoon, the storm cleared away at noon. I did not get into Camp. till dark. Monday, 16. I was in quarters, to day. wrote a letter to a friend in Center Sidney. I am not very well to day. The weather, looks pretty good, at present. Tuesday, 17. I was on Picket Guard to day. it has been very unpleasant to day. to be on guard. for it has snowed and rained all of the time. at night I went into an old Mill and stayed. till morning. February, Wednesday, 18. 1863. Came in from Picket. this morning, at 9 oclock. and I was in quarters the rest of the day. I do not fell very well. to day. Thursday, 19. To day I was on Orderley duty at the Generals Headquarters. but I did not have to go eny where. got back into Camp at sunset. Friday, 20. I was in quarters to day. did not fell very well. received a couple of letters this evening when the Mail came in. one was from home and the other from a friend in Center Sidney I was very glad to hear from the folks.
