    Ordered, that the Secretary of State pro tempore forthwith 

notify Erastus Foote Esq, that he has been duly & constitu- tionally elected by the people, a Senator for the County of Lincoln, & that he is requested, immediately to attend & aid the Senate in his charge of public business.

     "The committee appointed to receive & examine  

the return votes given in the several towns & planta- tions for Governor made the following report. viz.

     The committee of both Houses to whom was referred 

the returns of votes for Governor, given in the several towns & plantations within this state. - Have attended to that service and [rule?] leave respectfully to report - that they find the whole numbers of votes given in the several towns & plantations which have been duly returned to the Office of Secretary of State pro tem to be twenty two thousand nine hundred & four- teen - Necessary to a choice - 11,458 and that the Hon. William King has 21,083 votes & he is chosen.

     And the committee further report that they find 

no return form the town of Greenwood in the County of Oxford-

such as the Hon. House may join be a committee to wait on all the Hon. William King & inform him that he has been elected agreeably to the provisions of the constitution, Gover- nor of the State Maine & that the two Houses will convene in the Representatives chamber for the purpose of constitutionally qualifying him for that office, whenever it may be convenient for him to attend for that purpose.
