Gen McLellan leaves the armey 11 We got to white plains about noon. It began to snow and we went into camp for the night. X 8th Marched in the morning. there was four inches of snow on the ground. The road was verry mudy. We camped three miles from warrenton [?] at night. 9th We marched through New Baltimore and to within a mile of Warrinton and went into camp to stop a while. 10th Some of the 1st Me Cav boys came to see me. I saw my brother Prentiss and he was well. While we was here General George B. McLellan took his leav of the armey and I saw him as he passed. 16th We marched through the town and in the direction of Warenton Junction which is 8 miles down the road. We crossed the Orange & Alexander RR in the direction of Falmoth. We stayed two days near Hartwood church on account of it being very rainy and muddy. Here Joseph Brucklebank was taken sick and never done much duty afterwards. We started our mo-ving from Hartwood and marched to Stoneman S[?]tet. We built quarters and long here drilling and picketing about two weeks.
