[Bill - Maine Medical Society] Bill from the Senate "to alter the name of the Maine Medical Society and for other purposes — was read a 1st & 2nd time and tomorrow at 9' o'clock assigned for a 3d reading

[Report - excise on Attornies] The committee to consider the expediency of requiring Attornies and Counsellors to pay an excise duty on their admission to practice — reported a bill — report was read and accepted.

[Bill - duties to be paid by Attornies—] Bill to establish the duties to be paid by Attornies - read a 1st & 2nd time and tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.

[Bill- Court of Sessions in Somerset County.] bill to alter the time of holding the Courts of Sessions in the County of Somerset — was read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

[Committee - salaries of certain officers —] [Number of Clerks fixed] On motion of Mr Virgin Ordered that Messrs Virgin of Rumford Nowell of Kennebunk-Port, Adams of Portland Wilson of Boothbay and Hilton of Jerry be a committee to take into consideration what alterations if any, are necessary to be made in the Act establishing the Salaries of certain officers within this State: and also to take in consideration the expediency of passing a law to fix the number and pay of Clerks in the several public offices within this State, with leave to report by bill or otherwise — read & passed.

[Two Sessions each day] On motion, Ordered, that the House will hold two sessions each day — the afternoon of session to commence at 1/2 past 2 o clock, during the remainder of the session.
