Petition of the Town of Avon praying for leave to sell lands. Read and committed to the joint standing Committee on Ministerial lands. Sent up for concurrence.

Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed "An Act to incorporate the Penobscot Agricultural Society." "An Act to set off Benjamin Hunnewell with his family and estate from the Town of Danville and annex them to the Town of Durham". "An Act to incorporate the Trustees of the Maine Baptist Education Society" "An Act to change the name of the Maine Literary and Theological Institution" which were passed to be enacted.

[Committee + to determine what number of Representatives shall be returned on next apportionment &c]

Ordered, That Messrs Atherton of Prospect, Hobbs of Waterborough, Irish of Gorham, Stebbins of Alna, Turner of Turner, Wilson of Bingham, Nourse of Orrington and Adams of Steuben, be a Committee to take into consideration the whole number of Representatives which ought to be returned at the next election of Representatives under the first apportionment with leave to report by Resolve or otherwise. Read and passed.
