Journal of yesterday read.

[Leave of absence.] Messrs Lewis of Gorham, Smith of Readfield and Wood of Camden had leave of absence.

[Pet. of Solomon Thayer] Petition of Solomon Thayer that authority may be given to Thomas Ruggles of Columbia to convey to him, by deed certain real estate — read and referred to the committee New trials — Sent up for concurrence.

[Bill - admeasurement of boards - tale of Shingles &c] Bill " in addition to an act for the admeasurement of Boards, and for regulating the tale of shingles, clapboards Hoops, Staves and for other purposes passed March 16th 1821" was on motion indefinitely.

[Bill - pay to Board of Commissioners] Bill " to provide for carrying into effect certain stipulations in the act for erecting the District of Maine into a separate State — was read a third time and passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

[Report - on pet. of Jona. Farrar] The committee on the petition of Jonathan Farrar for an Academy at Dexter reported a bill — report read & accepted.

[Bill - establish Dexter Academy.] Bill "to establish the Dexter Academy" was read a 1st & 2nd time & this afternoon at 3 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.
