My dear Mr. Roberts;-

The package addressed to me arrived Monday of this week and was placed in the library safe unopened. When Arundle is out, we will send you a receipt for the con- tents of the package, acknowledging the items it contains as loans to the Maine State Library. Probably it will be kept in the safe until we have the new building. Of course we have no idea when that will be, but I am afraid it will not be very soon. I hope you will consider lending us all your Ar- noldiana, as you suggest in your letter; it would, with the manuscript, make a wonderfully interesting exhibit.

Perhaps a list of the towns in Maine which have tablets commemorative of Arnold's march might be of interest to Mr. Doubleday. I will send him one.

I hope that you will have a delightful and successful winter.
