I John McCarty of lawful age on oath do testify & say that I reside in Perry, am a farmer. In the spring of 1857, Mr. Seth W. Smith called on me to purchase seed oats for the Indians. I had no oats, nor was there any for sale in Perry. They were very scarce, & I consider one dollar a bushel a fair price for those delivered to the Indians.

Then personally appeared the above named John McCarty, & made oath to the truth of above affidavit, by Him subscribed before me.
