The appointment of Mr. Hoskins would I think give better satisfaction to the Republicans of Penobscot, than any ohter of the candidates.
The Agent I think ought not to reside away from Old town as it subjects the Indians to great inconvenience.
I will not trouble you with any further remarks, only that I am decidedly of the opinion that Mr. Hoskins is the [underlined] man for this appointment as will be more fully shown to you by others.
