The appointment of Mr. Hoskins would I think give better satisfaction to the Republicans of Penobscot, than any other of the candidates.
The Agent I think aught not to reside away from Old Town as it subjects the Indians to great inconvenience.
I will not trouble you with any further remarks, only that I am decidedly of the opinion that Mr. Hoskins is the man for this appointment as will be more fully shown to you by others.
