Bangor May 2 1859

Hon Lot M Morrill

Governor of Maine.

Having learned that a vacancy is lately to occur in the office of Indian Agent, I beg leave to recommend to your notice Mr. Frederic H. Dillingham of this city as a gentleman iminently[?][imminently] qualified to fire said office, and whose administration[?] I have no doubt would be entirely satisfactory to the State, as well as to the Tribe of Indians for whose welfare the appointment is to be made.

Very Respectfully

Franklin Adams
