Petition of Joseph Holland & als for authority to erect a toll Bridge across Androscoggin at Canton point referred in Senate to the Committee on Turnpikes, bridges & Canals, came down for concurrence and the House concurred.

Bill to incorporate the Canal Bank, was read 1 & 2d time & Tuesday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Ordered that the committee on Finance be instructed to enquire as to the expediency of exempting from taxation Plantation No. 1. 7th Range in the County of Penobscot in the next tax act; and also to report to this House whether in their opinion said land is liable to be taxed. Read & passed.

Petition of Converse Lilly & als for authority to build a Bridge at Dresden, referred in Senate to the committee on Turnpikes Bridges & Canals, came down for concurrence and the House concurred.

The committee on subject of allowing Banks to issue Bills of a less denomination than five dollar to a greater amount than the Law now authorizes, reported that no further Legislation is necessary on the subject - The report accepted in Senate came down for concurrence & the House concurred.

Reports on petitions of Selectmen of Dover - - of Timothy Eastman Junr & als - came from the Senate referred to the committee on State Lands for concurrence - and the House concurred.

Petition of Eliashib Adams & als owners of a meeting house in Bangor to be incorporated was read & refd to committee on incorporation of Parishes &c. Sent up for concurrence.
