Senate January 15, 1823 [Pet. Trustees of Gardiner Lyceum] Petition of the Trustees of the Gardiner Lyceum for aid, committed in the House to Messrs Parker, Leach & Carlton [Carleton], came up for concurrence, was read & concurred and Messrs Bond of Dennet were joined.

[Petition of sundry persons committees] The following petitions committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on New Trials came up for concurrence, viz.

Petition of Joseph Porter for an alteration in the law respecting Hawkers, Pedlars [peddlers] and Petty Chapmen, Do. of Committee of the town Warren, that their doings may be made valid. Do. of John Given e, and town of Harpswell that the limits of Jail Yard of Cumberland may be lessened. Do. of Archibald Anderson 3d for leave to convey certain lands.- and they were severally read and concurred.

[Pet. James Burley & als] Petition of James Burley & others of Waterville for an alteration of the Militia Law, committed in the House to the Joint Committee on so much of the Governor's Message as relates to the Militia, came up for concurrence, was read and concurred.
