I am sorry on her attt., and sorry, too, because you, + John + Weeks will be sorry. We passed the package to Washington. You say, you hate to think you have to work so hard [underlined], + that you will not get enough for it to pay your board [underlined]. Don't let this trouble you, my son. If you succeed well, - if you do the duties of your place with cheerfulness [underlined] + alacrity [underlined], I guess Denison + Co. will give you enough to pay your board; if not, I will [underlined]. So be a good boy, + don't worry. I shall never cease to miss you, Zadoc, as long as you are absent, + as long as I live. But I shall feel comparatively easy about you while I feel assured your health [underlined], + morals [underlined], are sound. And I shall have no fear about your morals [underlined] as long as I know you daily practice reading the Bible [underlined], + your secret Devotions [underlined]. These exercises are an infallible safeguard against every form of vice. And if it chance to be known [underlined] that you regard them so, you need not be ashamed [underlined]. You would not be ashamed to be seen reading a communication from me [underlined], your poor imperfect earthly [underlined] father: You would not be ashamed to have it known [underlined] you pay respectful attention to my counsel,- that you frequently ask [underlined] for it, + are guided [underlined] by it, + that you thank me [underlined] for all I do for you. And would you be ashamed to have it known that you reverence your Heavenly Father [underlined]?
