Message from the Senate by Mr Low their Secretary.
Mr Speaker,
The Senate propose a convention in the Representatives Chamber at 12 oclock today for the purpose of qualifying the Governor elect – and the House concurred.
Ordered that the following Committees of the House, consist of Five members each, to wit “on Elections”, “on engrossed Bills” and “on Bills in the third reading” – read and passed.
The Speaker announced his appointment of the Committee of Elections as follows, viz. Messrs Pond of Bucksport. Chandler of Calais. Evans of Gardiner. Dunn of Poland. Kavanaugh New Castle.
Agreeably to assignment the two Houses met in Convention at 12 oclock when Albion K Parris Governor elect, attended by the Council, Secretary of State and Treasurer preceeded [preceded] by the Sheriff of Cumberland, came in and took & subscribed the oaths and declarations required by the Constitution to qualify him to discharge the duties of that office, – and the Secretary of State made public proclamation accordingly.
Ordered that the House stand adjourned until three oclock this afternoon.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Dunlap Greene & Francis a Committee with such as the House may join, to wait upon the Governor and inform him that both Branches of the Legislature are now proceeding on public business, and are ready to receive any communication
