granting orders of Notice, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

Report on petition of Samuel Gould and als, Selectmen of New Portland, granting leave to withdraw, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence, and the House concurred.

Petition of Robert Perkins & als that a charter may be granted for a Bridge across the Sheepscut [Sheepscot?] to connect Edgecomb with Wiscasset came from the Senate referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals for concurrence – and the House concurred.

Petition of John Pinkham and als, that a charter may be granted for a Bridge across the Kennebec to connect Gardiner with Pittston, was read and referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

Agreeably to assignment the two House met in convention in the Representatives Chamber at 1/4 past twelve o clock when Daniel Wood, William Chadwick, Jonathan Thayer and Joel Wellington, came in, and took and subscribed the oaths and declarations required by the Constitution to qualify them as Counsellors, to advise the Executive in the executive part of government the current political year – after which the convention proceeded by ballot to the election of a Treasurer of State – The whole number of ballots given in was One hundred & fifty eight – necessary to a choice eighty – Elias Thomas Esqr had One hundred and fifty seven – and was declared elected.

The Committee of this House on the petition of James Neal & als, reported leave for a Bill – report accepted.
