Ordered that the committee on Interior Fisheries be instructed to enquire and report what alteration or addition is necessary to an act “to prevent the destruction of Fish called Salmon and Alewives on Dennys River & Pennaquan, in the County of Washington” to prevent the destruction of Fish in said River. Read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
Message from the Senate by Mr Low their Secretary. Mr Speaker, The Senate propose a convention at 12 oclock today in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of coming to the choice of a Counsellor for the County of Hancock in the room of Joseph Shaw who declines accepting. The House concurred and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.
Ordered that Messrs Pilsbury of Eastport, Chandler of Calais, and Farnsworth of Dennysville be a committee to enquire & report what measures it may be expedient to adopt to carry into effect a Resolve passed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the 8th day of February A. D. 1811 entitled a Resolve granting five hundred dollars to aid the building of a gaol at Eastport in the County of Washington – read and passed.
Joseph R Abbot & Abishai Benson obtained leave of absence until Saturday next.
Resolve giving the consent of this State to remove obstructions, in Piscataqua River – was finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.
