observed by each and every member of this Board toward each other and to myself in particular, permit me to observe that the chair has been exonerated from the disagreeable necessity of calling a single member to order during the session. Allow me to congratulate you on the harmony and decorum which has in an unusual degree prevailed during this session at this board. Accept gentlemen my sincere thanks for the honour conferred by electing me to preside in your deliberations and for the kindness and civility which, during the whole session and without a single exception, I have uniformly received from every individual member of this Board - and especially for this public approbation of my conduct. The very handsome manner in which this vote of approbation has been moved by the gentleman from Cumberland entitles that gentleman to my grateful acknowledgements.

Gentlemen, so long as memory shall enable me to recollect the transactions of this session of the Legislature I shall ever remember with gratitude the kind treatment I have received at this Board.

Accept gentlemen, individually my best wishes for your prosperity and happiness - and may you have a happy and safe return to your respective families and fire sides. Should it be our fortune never to meet again in this world, may we be enabled to cherish the fond hope of hereafter meeting in a better state of existence, where peace, harmony and love shall prevail -, and vice and sorrow shall be known no more."
