Resolve against the amendment to the Constitution, proposed by Tennessee, was read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
Bill – concerning Lotteries, and Lotteries, tickets, was read once and referred to Messrs Fessenden of Portland, Myrick of Hebron & Weeks of Parsonsfield.

Bill – authorizing a Lottery for improving the navigation of Kennebec River, was read a 2nd time and tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned for a 3d reading – and the question “shall this bill have a third reading” was taken by yeas and nays an [and?] decided as follows [see appendix page 291] yeas 72 nays 43.
Petition of the Cumberland & Oxford Canal Corporation praying for further provisions to regulate their concerns, was read & referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals. Sent up for concurrence.
