The Committee appointed to invite the attendance of the several ordained Clergymen of Portland, upon the House as Chaplains & reported that they had performed the service and that the Reverend Gentlemen would comply with the wishes of the House.

Ordered that the Door Keeper of the House, cause the Page to notify the Chaplains the days on which it is their duty respectively to officiate. read and passed -

The joint committee appointed to examine the returns of votes for Governor from the several towns & plantations in this State, reported that the whole number given in was 21063 votes - necessary to a choice 10532 - that Enoch Lincoln Esq had 20689 votes and is duly chosen Governor of the State of Maine - that the votes returned from Bristol, Thorndike, Wayne, Denmark Dixfield, Charlotte, Alexander, Howland, Hermon, Canaan, Weld, Mount Desert, Starks, Dutton, & from the plantations of Appleton, No 7 Washington County, Thompson Pond, Fryeburg Academy Lands, No 1 - first range Oxford County, No 2 first range Somerset County, & Sunkhase, for reasons stated in their report were rejected by the Committee - and the report was accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

John Winslow returned as a member from the class composed of Albion & Freedom, appeared, presented his credentials was gratified and took his seat.

Jonathan Knowles, returned as a member from the class composed of Hampden, Newburg & Hermon, appeared, presented his credentials, was qualified & took his seat.
