[Report on Petition]

Mr. Witham from the committee on petition of the town of Sullivan reported that the petitioners cause an attested copy of their petition with this order thereon to be printed in the Hancock Gazette and Penobscot Advertiser, sixty days at least before the first Wednesday of the first session of the next Legislature : Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence : concurred.-

Resolve in favor of the Secretary of State, was read a 2d time and passed to be engrossed : sent down for concurrence : -

[Message]

The Secretary of State came in and laid on the table a message from the governor relative to the formation of a new Division of the Militia, to be denominated the 7th Division.- Read and sent down.-

[Petition referred]

Petition of Mason Shaw of Hancock County to be refunded twenty dollars, paid by him as Clerk of the Courts, committed in the House to the committee on New Trails, came up for concurrence, and was read and concurred.-

On motion of Mr. McCobb, ordered that a message be sent to the House requesting them to take from their files of last year and send up, the petition of Jacob Quincy and als. and the papers came up, and were sent down for concurrence.-
