263 [1823 February 10] [Bills enacted] The Committee on engrossed Bills reported the following to be truly copied, viz Bill respecting the Bridges over the tide waters of Pensumpscot River, Bill additional to an Act establishing and regulating the fees of certain officers therein named, Bill to prevent unnecessary costs in criminal prosecutions, and Bill for the preservation of Fish in Newport. and they were severally passed to be enacted. Also [Resolves passed] Resolve making appropriation for the purchase of fuel. Resolve fixing the place of the meeting of the next Legislature. Resolve authorizing the appointment of an agent to represent the claims of this State upon the United States for expenses incurred by Massachusetts during the late war. Resolve making appropriation for paying William B. Sewall and the engrossing Clerks. Resolve respecting the accounts of land Agents, Resolve laying a tax on the several Counties. Resolve appropriating the sum of five hundred dollars as a contingent fund to be placed at the disposal of the Governor, and Resolve authorizing the purchase of Blank Books for the use of the Militia, and they were severally passed.
