Report on the petition of the Selectmen of Washington, came from the Senate that body adhering to their vote giving the petitioners leave to withdraw - The House receded from their former votes so far as to concur with the Senate.

The committee on Finance on so much of the Governors Message as relates to Finances of the State, reported that it is inexpedient to take any further order thereon - and the report was accepted.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed. Bill - making further provision respecting the punishment of convicts - which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed Resolve imposing a tax on the several Counties within this State - - for the payment of accounts against the State - - respecting the State Prison - which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - additional to an act authorizing a Lottery for the benefit of the Cumberland & Oxford Canal Corporation, was read a 3rd time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill - fixing the place of the permanent seat of Government and prescribing where the Legislature shall hold its sessions, which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - additional act respecting Highways, came from the Senate further amended for concurrence - and the House so far reconsider their vote as to concur with the Senate in passing this Bill to be engrossed as thus amended.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence, directing the joint committee on Salaries to consider the expediency.
