Mr Redington of Vassalboro' was charged with a message to the Governor, informing him of the organization of the House by the election of John Ruggles Speaker & James L Child Clerk.
Mr Vance of Baring was charged with a similar message to the Senate.
Ordered, that the House hold two sessions each day, commencing at half past nine oclock in the morning, and three oclock in the afternoon, until otherwise ordered, except on Mondays, and then to commence at 11 oclock, AM.
Ordered, that the Rules & Orders of the last House of Representatives, be the Rules & Orders of this House until others are adopted.
Ordered, that Messrs Rideout of Cumberland, True of Poland, & Rowell of Jefferson, be a committee to contract with some suitable person, or persons, to discharge the duties of Messenger & Page to this House.
Ordered, that Messrs Evans of Gardiner, Adams of Portland & Smith of Nobleboro, be a committee to prepare Rules & Orders.
A committee of one member from each County, consisting of Messrs Allen of Norridgewock, Sayward of Alfred, Humphrey of Gray, Blaney of Bristol, Hazeltine of Seansmont Parker of Brooksville, Foster of Machias, Howard of Sidney Cummings of Paris & Leonard of Brewer were appointed to report the names of the members & the number of their respective seats.
The Secretary of State came in & informed the House, that, agreeably to the Constitution, he had laid upon the Senate
