The committee appointed to prepare and report Rules and orders for the Government of the House, during the present session of the Legislature, made their report which was accepted as amended. - and thereupon it was ordered that the Clerk cause to be printed three hundred Copies thereof, together with a list of the several standing committees, and of the members of the House, with the number of the seats they respectively occupy.

An order came from the Senate appointing Messrs Cushman Sweat and Hathaway with such as the House may join a committee to inform Enoch Lincoln Esquire that he is duly elected to the office of Governor of the State of Maine for the current political year, and that the two branches of the Legislature are ready to convene in the Representatives Chamber, that in their presence, he may take and subscribe the oaths of office required by the constitution, and to receive any communication he may be pleased to make to them - The House concurred and Messrs Wellington of Albion, Johnson of Belfast, Spring of Biddeford, Swan of Portland and Robinson of Newcastle were joined.

The committee on the part of the House appointed to wait on the Governor elect & notify him of his election &c, reported that they had performed the service assigned them and that he was pleased to say he would attend forthwith in the Representatives Chamber and take & subscribe the oaths required by the constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of the duties of his office..

A message was received from the Senate by Mr Hutchinson their Secretary proposing a convention forthwith in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of qualifying the
