Bill - to divide the town of Edgecomb and incorporate that part thereof, known by the name of Jeremy Squam Island, as a town by the name of Westport, was taken up and an amendment proposed by the Senate adopted, and the Bill passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

The committee on the report of the Auditor of the Accounts of the Land Agent, made their report, which was accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

The committee of this House on the joint order & report of the joint committee thereon, on the subject of considering the expediency of altering the 3d Section of Acts respecting Highways so that Selectmen & Assessors shall have 30 days previous to complaint &c. &c. reported that Legislation is inexpedient - and the report was accepted.

Resolve in favor of the town of Whiting, reported by a committee of this House, was read once & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a second reading

Petition of Enoch Dole 2nd for authority to change his name, was read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Petition of Nathaniel Coffin & als to be incorporated as a fire Insurance Company, was read & referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

A communication was laid before the House by the Speaker from the Secretary of State, transmitting the information required from him by an order of this House passed yesterday - and 500 copies of the same were ordered to be printed.

Bill - regulating attachments on Real Estate, was taken up and amended, and then on motion referred to Messrs Fuller of Augusta, Clark of Hallowell & Labaree of Whitfield.
