Resolve granting compensation to Josiah Towle, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to cede to the United States the jurisdiction of certain tracts of land in Saco & Biddeford - also Report on the petition of Isaac Ilsley - granting leave for a Bill, were read & referred to the committee on Bills in the third reading with instructions to incorporate both subjects into one Bill.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed, An additional Resolve for opening and clearing a road from the South line of township number two, old Indian purchase, on the East side of Penobscot river to Metanawcook Stream which was finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Report on the petition of Nathaniel Pease & al - of The Thomaston Coal & Mineral Company granting leave to withdraw - came from the Senate accepted for concurrence - and the House concurred.

Bill - additional to an act establishing the times of holding the Supreme Judicial Court within this State, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a third reading.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Resolves in favor of certain chiefs of the Penobscot Indians - - in favor of the town of Whiting - Bills - to incorporate the town of Edmunds - - additional act defining the powers of the Judicial Courts in granting Reviews & for other purposes - and the Resolves were severally finally passed - and the Bills severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.
