Afternoon. Met according to adjournment.

Resolve respecting the Proprietors of side booms in Androscoggin River, came from the Senate amended for concurrence - & the House so far receded from their former votes as to pass the bill to be engrossed as thus amended in concurrence with the Senate.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Resolve for the benefit of Waterville College, Mr Hazeltine of Searsmont, moved an indefinite postponement of the Resolve, and the question being taken by yeas & nays was decided in the negative as follows yeas 60 nays 69 [see appendix page 283] The question "Shall the Resolve now finally pass" was then put and decided in the negative.

Bill - concerning Sheriffs fees, was reported with sundry amendments - when Mr Ingalls of Bridgton moved a reference of the subject to the next Legislature, and that question was decided by yeas & nays in the negative as follows viz yeas 37 nays 99 [See appendix page 286.] and then the House,
