[Bill - promotion of Education]

Mr. Cutler from the Committee reported Bill providing for the promotion of education, - Mr. Cutler proposed the following amendment, viz " Strike out the second section and in lieu thereof, insert the following, Sec. 2nd" Be it further enacted, That the Treasurer of State be directed to keep a separate amount of all monies he may receive from the sales of said land and from the notes in payment therefor, and the same shall constitute a permanent fund to be reserved [?] for the benefit of Primary Schools, and said fund shall be put out at interest, in such manner as a further Legislature shall determine, and the interest shall be annually distributed among the several towns and plantations
