Bill for the benefit of Bowdoin College, was read once & referred to Messrs McCobb of Phipsburg, Dean of Ellsworth & Merrill of Brunswick.

Ordered that Messrs Pike of Bridgeton, Hathaway of Bluehill and Walton of Friendship be a committee to enquire into the expediency of providing by law, that in all actions of trespass & actions on penal Statutes, where any two or more persons are joined as Defendents, such Defendents shall have the night to plead severally and to have a several & seperate trial, in the same manner as though sued severally, with the right to use the testimony of codefendents in such trial - read & passed.

Bill to incorporate the President, Directors & Company of Thomaston Bank, was read 1st & 2d time & Monday next at 11 oclock assigned for a 3d Reading -

Bill to incorporate the Columbian Bank, was read 1st & 2d time & Tuesday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Report on petition of Ezekiel Day & als granting an order of notice, came down accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.
