[Deed from Joshua Gage & als of Augusta]

Deed of Joshua Gage & als to the State of Maine - The motion made by Mr McCobb on the 4th inst to reconsider the vote referring the further consideration of said deed to April next was sustained & prevailed - He then moved a reference of the subject to the next Legislature, which also prevailed.

Resolve for the relief of John Sargent - was read a 2d time & passage refused - Mr Benson moved a reconsideration of the last vote & the House assigned 10th inst at 10 oclock to consider the subject.

Bill additional to an act for the better securing & rendering more effectual grants & donations to pious & charitable purposes (reported by committee on petition of Edward Cobb & als) was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill additional to an act to prevent fraud in Firewood, Bark or Coal, exposed to sale, (reported by committee on the subject) was read a 1st & 2d time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading

Bill to annex Lewiston to Cumberland County, was called up & referred to Messrs Sturdivant of Cumberland, Hammond of Elliot and Dunn of Poland.

Bills, respecting the inspection of Beef - - additional to an act to incorporate the Kennebec Steam Navigation Company - - to set off John Gray Junr & John Starbird and their estates from Woodstock to Paris - were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.
