Wednesday January 9th 1828

[left margin] Order from H.R. that the com on Jud be instructed to revise the laws for the support of the Poor [main body] Orders of the House of Representatives, that the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to revise the Laws for the supp- ort of the Poor, so far as to provide for the sale of and conveyance of the real estate of which a married woman may be seised in her own right, for her support when she may become chargeable as a Pauper, with to report by bill or otherwise.

[left margin] Order from H.R. That the Com. on Jud inquire what provisions ought to be made for secu- rity of buildings from fire. That the Committee on the Judiciary to in- -quire what provisions ought by Law to be made for the further and better security of dwelling houses and other buildings against fire with leave to report by bill or otherwise were sev- erally read and passed in concurrence.

Order of the House of Representatives that the Senate be requested to send to this House the Resolve ordered to be published by the last Legislature and referred to this, providing for the sale of public Lands for the establishment of town Libraries and for the benefit of schools was read and request granted.

Concurred and Messrs Vance, Gould and Patten were joined.
