Resolve in favor of Jackson Davis was read twice and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Resolve granting compensation to the Chaplains of the Senate & House of Representatives, was read twice & passed to be engrossed as amended at A. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve for the purchase of Stationary (reported by a committee of the House) was read twice & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence

Resolve making an appropriation for the expenses of the State Arsenal - was read twice and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill to incorporate the Penobscot Manufacturing & Exporting Company, came from the Senate referred to the next Legislature and an order of notice decided thereon, for concurrence & the House concurred.

Resolve authorizing the Land Agent in conjunction with the Land Agent of Massachusetts to sell timber on certain undivided lands, was read & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Mr Hill of Gouldsboro obtained leave of absence after today.

Bill authorizing the town of Portland to assess a tax on the owners of Dogs, was read a 1st & 2d time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed, Bill to apportion and assess on this State a Tax of forty five thousand one hundred & six dollars & eighty four cents. which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.
