On motion of Mr Bryant of Fairfield Ordered that the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to consider the expediency of providing by law that any number of inhabitants may incorporate themselves as a body politic for the purpose of purchasing land for a burying ground and to make and repair the fences enclosing the same - with leave & - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
A message was received from the Senate by Mr Hutchinson their Secretary, Proposing a Convention in the Representatives Chamber at eleven o clock today, of both Houses, for the purpose of coming to the choice of a Secretary of State & Treasurer of State - and the House concurred and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.
Report on the petition of Joseph Hutchinson & al came down with an amendment for concurrence - and the House so far receded from their vote of yesterday accepting said report as to adopt the proposed amendment in concurrence.
The committee to whom was referred an order directing them to enquire if any alterations are necessary in the Resolve of Jany 22 1822 providing for the promulgation of the Laws & Resolves of the State reported a Resolve - and the report was accepted.
Resolve providing for the promulgation of the laws of the State was read & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
