The committee to consider the amendment to the Constitution of the United States proposed by the General Assembly of Tennessee – reported a Resolve, which was accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

Resolve against the amendment to the Constitution, proposed by Tennessee, was read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill – concerning Lotteries and Lotteries tickets, was read once and referred to Messrs Fessenden of Portland, Myrick of Hebron & Weeks of Parsonsfield.

Bill – authorizing a Lottery for improving the Navigation of Kennebec River, was read a 2nd time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading – and the question “shall this bill have a third reading” was taken by yeas and nays an [and] decided as follows [See appendix page 291] Yeas 72 Nays 43.

Petition of the Cumberland & Oxford Canal Corporation praying for further provisions to regulate their concerns, was read & referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals. Sent up for concurrence.
