Corpl J[?] Ingragaham is promoted to Sargt Pri Wm L King promoted to Corpl. Official orders has been read that Fort Fisher was taken by assault on the 16th inst. We have been looking for this good news for a long time. 18th We have drill twice a day, and dress parade every afternoon. The commiss-ioned officers are all absent form my company and I am left in comand. 19th Verry cold and cloudy. Sargt F M Rogers has started to maine on a 20 day furlough. Moses Black and Nevel Smith was here to visit me today. 20th Looks like storm. Two drills today.
