[1st ballot] Necessary to a choice Eighty That Allen H. Cobb had Seventy three. David Dunlap Sixty six. Phinehas Varnum Eighteen. Noah Hinkley One Boardman Johnson One. No choice. [2d ballot] 2d Ballot. The whole number of votes given was One hundred

The whole number of votes given was One hundred Sixty one. Necessary to a choice Eighty one. Phinehas Varnum had Eighty three. Allen H. Cobb Seventy eight. [P. Varnum elected] Phinehas Varnum was then declared duly elected a Councillor to advise the Governor in the Executive Department of Government, during the current political year.
