192 Tuesday March 3rd 1829

[Bill to assess a State Tax] Bill to apportion and assess upon the Inhabitants of this State a tax of Forty nine thousand nine hundred and ninety four Dollars was read once and committed to Messrs. Gardner, Parsons, and French.

[Bill to annex a part of Canton to Jay] Bill to annex a part of the town of Canton to the town of Jay was referred to the next Legislature in concurrence with the House.

[Bill to set off Amos Hills and L. Eames from Newry to Bethel] Bill to set off Amos Hills and Luther Eames from Newry to Bethel came up indefinitely postponed and the Senate recede from their former vote and refer this Bill to the next Legislature. Sent down for concurrence. concurred.

[Bill to incorporate the Schoodiac River Log Company] Bill in addition to an Act to incorporate the Schoodiac River Log Company came up with a proposition for a conference which the Senate accept and appoint Messrs. Phelps, Usher and Hilton conferees.

[Leave to withdraw on Pet. of Charles Thompson & als] Mr. Hilton from the Committee on Militia reported leave to withdraw on the petition of Charles Thompson and others. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. conc.

[Resolve concerning History of State] Resolve to promote the publication of a General History of the State came from the House indefinitely postponed, the Senate recede from their former vote and refer this Resolve to the next Legislature. Sent down for concurrence. concurred.

[Bill for the survey of Logs &c] Bill providing for the survey and admeasurement of logs came up amended for concurrence and the Senate concurred.

[Bill respecting Education] Bill additional to an Act providing for the promotion of education came up passed to be engrossed and the Senate reconsider their former vote and refer this Bill to the next Legislature
