Ordered - that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of enacting a law that that shall oblige the inhabitants of incorporated towns to keep in continuance the corner bounds of lots and plots of land - and report by bill or otherwise - sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed - Resolve - authorizing the Assessors of the town of Belmont to assess taxes anew which was finally passed - sent up for concurrence.

An Order came from the Senate for concurrence, that the Land Agent be requested to communicate to the Legislature such Surveys and plans and other information as he may have in his possession, acquired while he was in the service of the United States in making reconnoisances [reconnaissance] between the waters of the Rivers Penobscot and St. Johns if in his opinion it can be done without any violation of his instructions - read and passed in concurrence -

Resolve apportioning the Representatives among the several Counties towns plantations and classes at the second apportionment was read first time and 300 copies thereof ordered to be printed for the use of the Legislature - and the question upon assigning Tuesday next for a second reading of this Resolve was decided by Yeas and Nays as follows - Yeas 64. Nays 61. -
