139 The committee to whom was referred so much of the Governors communication as relates to the subject of internal improvement and a system for a proportional distribution of the surplus funds of the United States to promote internal improvement reported at length the views entertained by them upon that subject - and the Resolves annexed thereto - and the same were assigned for consideration on Saturday next at 10 oclock & 300 copies ordered to be printed for the use of the members.

The committee engrossed bills reported as duly engrossed, Bill - to incorporate the Proprietors of Oldtown Bridge - to incorporate the Proprietors of Norridgewock Falls Bridge - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed, Resolve - in favor of William Tozier - - in favor of Nicholas Pierce - - for opening & clearing a road from the Southline of township number two, Old Indian purchase on the Eastside of Penobscot river to the Mattanawcook Stream - were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve relative to the State Road, North of the Bingham Purchase, was taken up & the new draft of the Senate adopted and three oclock this afternoon assigned to take the subject into consideration.

Adjourned until 1/2 past two oclock this afternoon.
