Dear Sir,
Allow me to express my grateful acknowledgment of your kind services in assisting me to reach my brother without delay. Your letter was all that I expected and as I found all that I needed.
In my dispatch from Bangor[?] I stated that Gen Chamberlain was worse. It seems there was a crisis in his case about that time. I am happy to inform you it turned favorably, and
