86 Saturday January 22d, 1831 [Report of the Comte. on the Mem. of Wm. D. Williamson referred]

On motion of Mr. Megquier, the report of the Committee on the memorial of William D. Williamson, was taken up and the subject referred to Messrs Megquier, Kingsbury and Davee.

[Pet. referred] The petition of Joseph Walker and others praying that the Town of Portland or Court of Sessions for the County of Cumberland, may be authorized to lay out a road in said town, over tidewaters between high and low watermarks, was read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

[Pet. referred] The petition of Pelatiah Leach Jr. and others praying that the ministerial fund of the Inhabitants of the Town of Penobscot may be annexed to the school fund, was read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on Parishes. Sent down for concurrence. concurred.

[Order from the House] Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of so far altering the law that no person holding an office, the tenure of which now is limited by law to four years, shall after the expiration of said term be eligible to be reappointed to said office until four years after his said term of holding said office shall expire, read and passed in concurrence.

[Pet. referred] The petition of the Town of Brighton, to abolish imprisonment for debt was read and referred to the Joint Select Committee who have under consideration so much of the Governor's Message as relates to that subject in concurrence.
