117 Monday February 9th 1829

[Report in favor of printing abstract of the return of scholars &c] Report of the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions to whom was referred the Returns of the number of scholars, money raised for the support of schools &c reported abstract of which they recommend the publication of three hundred copies &c came from the House accepted for concurrence and the Senate concurred.

[Pet: S.H. Mudge & als Rifle Company] Petition of Solomon H. Mudge & al members of the Portland Rifle Company for incorporation was read and referred to the Committee on the Militia & Military affairs in concurrence.

[Pet: Abner Bagley & others] Petition of Abner Bagley & others that the act incorporating the Proprietors of Falmouth Canal may be revived for certain purposes was read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals in concurrence.

[Report Order notice on the Pet: Jos. Whitney & al] Report of the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals granting an order of notice on petition of Joseph Whitney & al came from the House amended for concurrence, and the Senate concurred.

[Bill concerning Fish in Denny's River to be printed] Bill additional to prevent the destruction of fish in Denny's River and Penmaquan came from the House referred to the next Legislature with an order that the Petitioners cause an attested copy of this Bill and order thereon to be published in the Eastport Sentinel printed in Eastport, thirty days before the meeting of the next Legislature and in the Northern Light printed in Eastport forty days before the meeting of the next Legislature and the Senate reconsidered their for-
