Met according to adjournment.

On motion of Mr Cole of Paris, Ordered, That the Committee of the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of fixing by law the compensation to be allowed to Executors, Administrators & Witnesses in Probate Court. read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

The Committee of this House on contested elections to whom was referred the remonstrance of Phinehas S Bennet of Troy against the election of Joseph C Small and against the right of said Small to a seat in this House as the Representative from the class composed of the towns of Unity, Troy & Burnham, reported, (assigning in detail there reasons) that Joseph C Small was not duly elected and that Phinehas S Bennett was duly elected and is entitled to his seat in this House as the Representative of Unity, Troy & Burnham - The report on being read, was ordered to be laid upon the table - and thereupon on motion of Mr Scamman, Ordered that three hundred copies be printed for the use of the members -

On motion of Mr Smith of Nobleboro, The House assigned Tuesday next at ten oclock, to take up the consideration of the Report of the Committee on contested Elections in the case of Andrew Roberts.

On motion of Mr Spaulding of Rome, Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of the Justices of the Courts of Sessions being authorized to grant certain sums of money to towns for building and repairing roads that are located by said Counties to be drawn out of the Treasuries of their respective Counties - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
