Afternoon Met according to adjournment

Resolves respecting the Tariff laid on the table by Mr. Jarvis were read and tomorrow at half past two o'clock assigned for a second reading.

On motion of Mr. Clifford the House went into a secret session. -(see appendix Secret Journal)

A message was received from the Senate by their Secretary informing the House that the Senate had receded from their vote passing to be engrossed Resolve in favor of William Vance, and postpone the same indefinitely, and the House recede from their votes finally passing and passing to be engrossed the same Resolve and postponed the same indefinitely in concurrence, and the Clerk by message acquainted the Senate therewith.

Bill additional to an act to organize and govern the Militia of this State having been read a third time was recommitted to a Select Committee of this House consisting of Messrs. Cilley, Washburn and Webster.

Bill respecting wholesale venders of spiritous liquors was read a first and second time and tomorrow at two o'clock assigned for a third reading.

Bill to prevent frauds in the inspection of fish was read a third time and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill to annex a part of the town of Brownfield to the town of Denmark was read a third time and passed to be engrossed.
