26 Wednesday January 11 1832 Met according to adjournment

Joseph Dane of Kennebunk appeared, presented his credentials, was qualified and took his seat.

The report of the Joint Committee to employ some suitable persons to draft Bills and Resolves for this Legislature to whom their former report had been recommitted came from the Senate with instructions to employ some suitable person for a compensation not exceeding two dollars a day and the House concurred.

Mr. Bronson of Anson moved the following order - Ordered that the order suspending Charles Jarvis from his seat in this House until he should be constitutionally qualified to hold a seat therein, together with the preamble be entered on the Journal of this House and the question upon the passage thereof was taken by yeas and nays and decided in the negative as follows - yeas 62, Nays 102. (see appendix page )

An order came from the Senate appointing on their part the several Joint Committees as follows - and the House joined them on their part as follows, viz

On the Judiciary Messrs Megquier, Boutelle, Thayer of the Senate. Messrs. Williams of Augusta Dane " Kennebunk McCrate " Nobleboro' Kent " Bangor Cilley " Thomaston of the House

On Literary Institutions Messrs. Hunton, Keith, Groton of the Senate Messrs. Clifford of Newfield Dummer " Hallowell Pierce " Gorham Fessenden " Portland Boyd " Harmony of the House
