Afternoon.

The petition of Allen Haines, to be admitted to practice law, came up from the House referred to Messrs Jarvis, Lane, and Lake with such as the Senate may join concurred, and Messrs Talbot and Burnham are joined.

The petition of James T. Leavitt, to be admitted to practice law in the Court of Common Pleas, was read and referred to Messrs Smith and Burnham with such as the House may join. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred and Messrs Jarvis, Lane, and Lake are joined

Mr Talbot, from the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges, and Canals, reported reference to the next Legislature on the petition of Joshua Briggs and others, and also orders of notice on petition of William Hammond and others, and accepted. Sent down for concurrence

Resolve in favour of William W. Quimby came up from the House recommitted to the committee on Military pensions with instructions to report a statement of facts. The Senate recede from their vote passing said Resolve to be engrossed, and concur the House in said recommitment.

Resolve in favour of the town of Etna was read a second time and passed to be engrossed, in concurrence.
