237 Mr. Talbot from the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, reported that Legislation is inexpedient on the petition of Luther Pierce and others, and on an order relating highways and on an order relating to Broad rimmed wheels, read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence.

Resolve for completing and repairing the Canada road, Resolves for competing the Baring and Houlton road, were severally taken up and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Orono Bridge was taken up and the question of indefinitely postponing said Bill being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays was decided in the negative as follows, to wit, Yeas, Messrs. Burnham, Hunton, Sweat, Talbot and Thayer - 5. Nays, Messrs. Bridgham, Davee, Dunlap, Emerson, Gibson, Goodwin, Groton, Ingalls, Keith, Lithgow, Merrill, Porter, Smith, Thompson and Webb - 15. Messrs. Megquier, Scammon and Eastman were excused from voting on the question. Said Bill was then passed to be engrossed.

Resolve in favour of Elisha Hilton was taken up and passed to be engrossed, in concurrence.
