266 Friday March 2, 1832

Bill additional to an act to prevent fraud in firewood, bark and coal exposed to sale, was read a second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

A message was received from the House of Representatives transmitting a confidential communication and on motion of Mr. Megquier the Senate chamber was cleared of spectators and the Senate went into secret session. Preamble and Resolves respecting the Territory lying North and East of the St. John and St. Francis reported by the Select Joint Committee to whom the subject was referred was read a first and second time and a motion was made by Mr. Megquier to dispense with the engrossing of said Preamble and Resolves which motion was decided in the affirmative. On motion of Mr. Bridgham ordered that said Preamble and Resolves be laid on the table and that the further consideration of the same be resumed at half past two o'clock this afternoon.
