296 Yeas - Messrs. Boutelle, Dunlap, Emerson, Goodwin, Hodgman, Hunton, Lithgow, Megquier, Scammon, Sweat and Webb - 11. Nays - Messrs. Bridgham, Burnham, Eastman, Gibson, Groton, Merrill, Thayer and Thompson - 8. The question of adopting said amendment as amended, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays was decided in the negative as follows, to wit, Yeas - Messssrs. Boutelle, Hunton & Scammon - 3. Nays - Messrs Brdigham, Burnham, Dunlap, Eastman, Emerson, Gibson, Goodwin, Groton, Hodgman, Lithgow, Megquier, Merrill, Smith, Sweat, Thayer, Thompson, and Webb - 17. Mr. Boutelle them moved to amend by striking out in the third Resolve, the word, "that" in the third line and insert the word, "to" - also strike out all after the word "this" in the third line, and the question of so amending being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays was decided in the negative, as follow, to wit, Yeas -Messrs. Boutelle, Hunton and Scammon -3. Nays - Messrs Bridgham, Burnham, Dunlap, Eastman, Emerson, Gibson, Goodwin, Groton, Hodgman, Lithgow, Megquier, Merrill, Smith, Thayer and Webb - 15. The question of passing said Resolves to be engrossed, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows, to wit, Yeas - Messrs.
